At Somerset, there is always plenty to do. We are located in downtown El Cajon, two blocks from the Friday Night Concerts. Our residents can take a summer night stroll down Main Street during the car shows, visit our museum or library, or just relax and eat at one of the many restaurants. At home there are several events daily to stimulate activity physically, socially and spiritually. Begin the morning with coffee and a casual chat with friends, join in afternoon games in the backyard, and even enjoy a barbecue on the patio. Our staff plans a daily calendar of events with creative programs to encourage independence and an active lifestyle. Family members are always encouraged to join in our activities, take a walk around the grounds, or just enjoy a quiet conversation on the patio.

Somerset Special Care Center serves fresh, healthy food that caters to individual preferences, as well as therapeutic dietary needs. We recognize that good food, served in a pleasant atmosphere, contributes to the health and vitality of each resident.

We work with doctors and family members in planning customized care, including psychological services, with individual health needs assessed and monitored by a team of licensed nurses. Our attentive staff is focused on providing for all physical and emotional needs. We're even here to help with activities of daily living, such as looking up a telephone number or planning an outing using public transportation.
