Kindness and Caring: 

We know that the best physical care is empty without kindness.  Clinical excellence is a minimum standard, but kindness is what gives us the ability to achieve our Purpose of helping those we touch achieve their goals and dreams. 

Clinical Excellence:

Clinical Excellence is our foundation.  Since care is our most basic service, clinical excellence must be of utmost importance to us.  We will strive to achieve clinical excellence by not only seeking out and embracing best practices, but by encouraging innovation.

Innovation:

Being the best requires Innovation.  Innovation requires a willingness to take risks, because if something hasn’t been done before, there is a high likelihood of making mistakes.  We will do our best to guard against making mistakes with current systems and practices, while seeking to do even better by developing new systems and practices.  Our commitment is to provide a foundation for innovation on three pillars: Education, Data, and Technology.  But this is just the foundation – the rest is up to you.

• Education: Being the premier provider in California will require an exceptional level of knowledge, training and skill.  We will strive to make Kennon S. Shea employees the best equipped of any of our competitors, with the specific tools they need to help our residents achieve their goals and dreams
• Data:  We must be educated ourselves before we can educate others.  Kennon S. Shea & Associates will strive to obtain the data it needs to make data-driven decisions whenever possible, whether through outside education, or through our own internal process of gathering data.
• Technology:  Getting the data we need will often require technology.  We believe that technology, when properly used, can have a tremendous impact on our ability to provide the best care possible.  Rather than using technology as a way to take the human interaction out of the care process, we use it to increase interaction by freeing up our staff to spend as much of their time with the customer as possible, and give them opportunities to share the kindness.

Financial Responsibility:

As a for-profit company, we believe that financial success is a measure of how much our customers value our service, and that, conversely, lack of financial success  usually means we are doing something wrong.  We believe that the path to financial success in our profession lies not in the ability to provide a service at the lowest cost, but in responsibly working toward our Purpose, which is enabling those we touch to achieve their goals and dreams.  By helping to enrich the lives of others, our business will earn the reputation and loyal customers we need to succeed. 

Stewardship: 

A steward is someone who has been put in charge of something valuable.  There is nothing more valuable than the lives we have been entrusted with.  Stewardship means making the most of the responsibility we’ve been given. In order to help those we touch to achieve their full potential – both our co-workers and the people we care for – we must earn their trust by making the most of every opportunity.
